Below you will find a fairly comprehensive program for celebrating the Declaration of the Báb. The intention is to provide materials that the friends can use in preparing programs or for personal use when celebrating the Declaration of the Báb. The concept of the program is to start from today and trace it back to that momentous Day. Then the events that transpired in the physical world are described followed by some excerpts on what happens when a Manifestation of God Declares His Mission and God speaks again. Finally the program concludes with the some quotes about the Station of the Báb and what this important Day means in our daily lives today. You can also download Program for the Declaration of the Báb as a pdf.
Election of the Universal House of Justice
The Universal House of Justice was first elected on the first day of the Festival of Riḍvan in the one hundred and twentieth year of the Bahá’í Era,[21st of April 1963] when the members of the National Spiritual Assemblies, in accordance with the provisions of the Will and Testament of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, and in response to the summons of the Hands of the Cause of God, the Chief Stewards of Bahá’u’lláh’s embryonic World Commonwealth, brought into being this “crowning glory” of the administrative institutions of Bahá’u’lláh, the very “nucleus and forerunner” of His World Order. The Ridván Festivities are approaching. These twelve days are very special and on each day of these twelve days, there will be a Ridván related post on this blog. I have found myself “forgetting” that Ridván is for twelve days. To remedy that, I prepared a series of materials, one for each day, to read during these twelve days. Perhaps I am not the only one. Therefore, on each day of Ridván, there will be a Ridván related post. This series of Ridván related blog posts started with “Prelude to the Ridván Celebrations“followed about this post on the progressive allusions made by Bahá’u’lláh prior to His Declaration in the Ridván Garden.

On the 26th of March in 1863, Bahá’u’lláh was informed that He was invited to meet the governor of Baghdád. The governor, reluctant but obliged by his duty, conveyed the “invitation”, issued by the Ottoman Empire, for Bahá’u’lláh to re-locate” in Istanbul. This event took place just after the Tablet of the Holy Mariner had been revealed and can, perhaps be a prelude to Ridván and an example of the dynamics of crisis and victories in our Faith.
