Below you will find a fairly comprehensive program for celebrating the Declaration of the Báb. The intention is to provide materials that the friends can use in preparing programs or for personal use when celebrating the Declaration of the Báb. The concept of the program is to start from today and trace it back to that momentous Day. Then the events that transpired in the physical world are described followed by some excerpts on what happens when a Manifestation of God Declares His Mission and God speaks again. Finally the program concludes with the some quotes about the Station of the Báb and what this important Day means in our daily lives today. You can also download Program for the Declaration of the Báb as a pdf.

This is the second post in a series of posts telling the life story of Zaynu’l-Muqarrabín.

Zaynu’l-Muqarrabín was born in May 1818 in one of the villages outside of Najafabad. He was born to a religious family where his father was a Shia Mullah and the leader of a Mosque.

When he was a child, like almost every other child of that time and place, he believed in anything that he was taught and told by religions leaders. But before his maturity (probably before he became 15 years old), something changed.

This November, we will all witness the first global observance of the Twin Holy Birthdays of the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh according to the Badí Calendar. This blogpost gathered different materials that might be helpful for those planning celebration of these Two Days or for those who will observe the Days in private.

Three Newly Released Tablets

The Universal House of Justice released English translation of three Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh, one on the Birth of the Báb and two on the Birth of Bahá’u’lláh for the purpose of assisting the friends in their preparations. These are available as pdf here. Three Newly Released Tablets of Baha’u’llah (English)

Manifestation of God

We are celebrating the Birth of two Manifestations of God. Perhaps this four-page long compilation on Manifestations of God is helpful.

Manifestations of God distinguish themselves and have a spiritual power few can adequately explain. Here are few accounts of encounters with Bahá’u’lláh.

Manifestations of God also distinguish themselves from they day They are born. Here are some stories about the Báb prior to His Declaration.

Finally here is a slideshow of containing quotes set to music for the Celebration of the Birth of  Bahá’u’lláh.

The Badí Calendar

We universally celebrate the Twin Holy Days as two adjacent Days as the House of Justice has clarified and issued that the Badí Calendar be implemented in a letter dated 10th July 2010.

If you wish to refresh your knowledge about the Badí Calendar, you can find an introduction both as text and power point presentation here.

Wish you all the best Celebration of the Twin Holy Days

Soon we celebrate the Declaration of the Báb. As preparation or as readings, it might be interesting to read some stories about the life of the Báb prior to His Declaration. These stories are from His life as an infant up to His final preparation before His Declaration. These stories are available at the following links.

The Báb as an Infant

The Childhood of the Báb

The Devotional Attitude of the Báb

The Schooling of the Báb

The Báb as a Merchant

Final Preparation of the Báb before His Declaration

Furthermore, perhaps reflecting on the following excerpts from the Writings of the Blessed Beauty, will assist in a worthy celebration of this Holy Day.

One of the devoted disciples of the Bab was the Shaykh Hasan-i-Zunuzi who received a promise by the Bab that he would attain the presence of Him Whom God Shall Make Manifest in the city of Karbila (where he lived). Baha’u’llah visited Karbila in 1851, where He met Shaykh Hasan and, as prophesied by the Bab, he intimated to him His exalted station. Nabil-i-A’zam tells the story as recounted to him by Shaykh Hasan.
