On the 31st of August in 1868, the Blessed Beauty and His companions arrived at the Prison City of Akka. “How incomparable is the difference between the vision of those assembled at the sea gate of ‘Akká to jeer at and demonstrate their hostility towards the company of exiles and their Leader, and the vision of Bahá’u’lláh Who a few years before, in the Tablet of Sayyáh foreshadowing His arrival in the city of ‘Akká, disclosed to those who were endowed with spiritual insight a vastly different spectacle: Upon Our arrival We were welcomed with banners of light, whereupon the Voice of the Spirit cried out saying: ‘Soon will all that dwell on earth be enlisted under these banners.‘. [Taherzadeh, Revelation of Bahá’u’lláh, Volume 3, Chapter 1]

This compilation,  Arrival of Bahaullah and the Exiles to the Prison City of Akka, tells the story of the day and the path taken by the Blessed Beauty and His companions from the Sea Gate of Akka to the Prison Barracks and the Prison Cell of Bahá’u’lláh. Perhaps it could be of use for preparation, if friends would wish to take a moment to, alone or together with other friends, remember this day by offering some prayers and revisiting its history.
